I found this picture, probably from the early to mid 1960’s, (Isn’t that a ’60 Ford Thunderbird along the curb left?) on the Stumptown Blogger’s site. It shows what appears to be an Ensete v. ‘Maureli’. On these the entire leaf is ‘backed’ with a deep ‘red’ color.
