This is the , the research and administration building at the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. I love this garden. Sitting on a ridge top above Santa Barbara, overlooking Santa Cruz Island, one of the Channel Islands, this particular part of the garden, still being planted, features the native plants of the Channels, more than a few of which are endemic and endangered. The Botanic Garden focuses on the regional flora, particularly on the Channel Islands where it carries out research and restoration projects. Aesthetically, this garden works beautifully and is a wonderful example of what can be done with one’s own regional flora.
