This is the Stewart monadelpha in my garden. The ‘lump’ to the right shows where callous tissue has completely covered an old pruning wound. The ‘ridge’ is still evident. The callous tissue here is less course than on the Parrotia. Callous tissue and sealing off a wound will not look the same species to species.
