Looking south from the Morrison Bridge at Waterfront Park. This is probably the heaviest used park in the system. It is programed with big events from Cinqo de Mayo well into September, a political choice outside the control of Park maintenance staff. The turf collapses under the use looking much like this through much of the summer. Each event shuts down the irrigation during set-up, the event, take down and any necessary repairs. This combined with summer’s heat makes it really difficult to bring the turf back.
