This picture of the inflorescence of an Agave scabra is from Tony Avent of Plant Delights taken of a plant in North Carolina’s JC Raulston Arboretum. As mine has not yet opened any of its flowers yet and, to the best of my knowledge, known others have flowered here in Portland to photograph.
Can the blooms be planted to create new plants “are these the seeds?”

Only a few Agave form ‘bulbils’ on their inflorescences after flowering…Sharkskin does not, so there are no small plantlets to plant. It did produce a large amount of seed, some of which a friend germinated, of which I have several plants now growing in pots, still quite small!

Hello, thanks for your response.
I am assuming the small yellow strands on the blooming ball are the seeds?
I will stick them in some potting soil and see what happens.
Thanks, Bill
