Fritillaria pudica. Not too plentiful, but I may have been just early. This is smaller than those Ive found in the eastern Columbia Gorge. I’ve found them in the canyons along the Deschutes and other eastside creeks, but its location here indicates that it is much more tolerant of aridity than I had thought. As I kid over here I don’t ever remember seeing Spring ephemerals like this. I’m sure its because I never had anyone to point them out.
