An entirely created Steppe landscape planted in a long narrow median in the street on the west side of Bend, OR. Steppe landscapes are biologically ‘thin’ in comparison to most of Earths other landscapes and biomes. They can be harsh with wide and rapid temperature swings, arid, they are only slightly wetter than a desert climate and as continentally influenced landscapes can get quite cold, that in Oregon averaging 0ºF to -10º and colder.
