Jacopo Bassano, Garden of Eden. The artist’s life spanned most of the 16th century and he spent most of his time depicting religions scenes, often including animals, here the domesticated farm animals he would have been familiar with while often composing night scenes and the powerful influence such light could lend his subjects.
