Sun path charts can be a little confusing at first to ‘read’, but once you do they provide a lot of explanative power all together. This one is for Santiago, Chile, at latitude 33.45 south. Portland is at latitude 45º north so its arcing pattern would bend the opposite direction to the south and it would be more extremely ‘bent’ in proportion to its increased distance away from the equator.
