OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This pic shows the remaining seed of Sonchus canariensis, the typical slender achene of the Aster family, still clinging to the rim of the receptacle with their pappus expanded to help carry them away on the breeze. I found this picture on the blog, “Violets and others: Wild flower photos by Peter Leonard”, in a posting on March 26, 2019, titled, “Sonchus canariensis in Tenerife”, pictures he took while visiting the island. https://cambridgewildflowers.blogspot.com/2019_03_26_archive.html?m=0
