An old growth Juniper in the Cline Buttes area hundreds of years old and at least 3′ in diameter. On such sites ground level fuels are relatively scarce protecting the trees from ‘death by fire’ often with little more than Idaho Fescue growing scattered beneath with some really lovely annual wildflowers interspersed inbetween.
